Meet the founder jessa williams

I founded Intrsxtn Surf to create a safe space for women who might otherwise feel like surfing wasn't for them.

Connecting with the ocean can be a powerful and truly healing experience. I just want other Black Women and Women of Color to know that this is something that's for us, too! I understand the barriers that can keep our community from the experience of surfing. With Intrsxtn, we remove some of these barriers to entry by providing equipment and lessons (taught by an all WOC crew) - all for free.

I'm proud that since launching in 2021, Intrsxtn Surf has provided hundreds of Women of Color with their first-ever surf experience. I'm thankful for all the support along the way, and can't wait to see what's next!

Nike Swim

Taking up space in the water, the beach, the outdoors- the Intrsxtn Surf girls are just doin it! Check us out behind + in front of the camera, with Nike Swim, who we produced social content for as well as an experiential “Sunday Surf Club” event.
Pattern

Thankful for PATTERN by Tracee Ellis Ross because textured hair + surf is a whole thing! We were honored to create a video campaign series, “Waves Our Way” to celebrate this brand that keeps our crowns juicy and joyful, even after so much time spent being drenched in saltwater!
JOLYN

Swimwear that actually stays put in the waves? We love to see it! We partnered with performance swimwear brand JOLYN to co-produce their Spring 23 Surf campaign.
On

Our fave pair of shoes from On? The Cloudsurfers, obvii. We hosted a Surf + Sprint collab event with On, and invited the community to come road test them, as we warmed up our bodies with a run before our surf sesh.
Adidas Originals

Bet you’ve never heard of a Staycation Surf Retreat. We hadn’t either, but our idea for it was born out of necessity. Adidas Originals gave us the support needed to make it happen, and boom! There we were. Staycationing. Surfing. and Retreating.
MOSS

We created a sunset surf experiential brand event for MOSS- a seamoss beverage newly launched by Michael B Jordan’s Outlier Society and Dr. Smood. Straight-from-the-sea refreshment in a ready to drink form? Now you’re speaking our language!
